John Robert Shuler, Ii

John Robert Shuler, II, age 80 of #894 Second Street, NE, Shannon, died Thursday evening, April 24th, 2008 at a local hospital.
A native of Jackson County, North Carolina, Mr. Shuler was born on December 21st, 1927, the son of the late Harley A. and Omie Jones Shuler. He had been a resident of Floyd County since 1952 and was of the Baptist Faith. Mr. Shuler was a self-employed construction worker.
Survivors include his wife, Estalee Monteith Shuler to whom he was married on January 19th, 1952; 4 sons and daughters-in-law, Eddie and Glenda Shuler of Rome, Bruce and Darlene Shuler of Rome, Tim and Nita Shuler of Cartersville, Ga. and Eric and Linda Shuler of Rome; 5 grandchildren, Jeremy, Allison, Heyden, Sydney and Ezra; 3 great-grandchildren, Brooklyn, Jacob and Katelyn, 2 sisters, Emma Conner of Calhoun, GA. and Lois Vaughn of Babson Park, Fla.;2 brothers, H.A. Shuler of Rome and Alvin Shuler of Cedar Bluff, Ala. Nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services for Mr. Shuler will be held on Sunday afternoon, April 27th, 2008 at 3 o'clock from the graveside of Oaknoll Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Kenneth Conner officiating. Interment will follow in Oaknoll Memorial Garden.
Mr. Shuler's 4 sons, a grandson and his brother Alvin will serve as pallbearers.
Mr. Shuler will remain at Fred Talley's Parkview Chapel where the family will receive friends on Sunday afternoon from 1 o'clock until 2:30 p.m. At other hours the family will be at the home of a son and daughter-in-law, Bruce and Darlene Shuler, at #8274 Calhoun Road.
