Mr. John Daymon Davis, age 73, of Rome, GA, died Thursday morning, January 2, 2014, in a local healthcare facility.
A native of Rome and Floyd County, Mr. Davis was born on October 7th, 1940, the son of the late William Damon Davis and Grace Hall Davis. He had been a resident of Rome and Floyd County almost all his life and was a graduate of Model High School. Mr. Davis was a retired self-employed carpenter. He was a United States veteran, having served in the United States Marine Corp. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son, John Gregory Davis, a brother, and a sister.
Mr. Davis is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Alisa and Ron Elmore of Kernersville, NC, Marla and Shane Baker of Rome, and Hope and Chris Warren of Lafayette, GA; son and daughter-in-laws; Monty and Valerie Davis of Rome; and a daughter-in-law,Teresa Davis of Rome. Thirteen grandchildren and six great-grandchildren also survive.
A memorial service to honor the life of Mr. John Daymon Davis will be held this (Saturday) afternoon at 3:00 p.m. in the Dykes Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Mikel Garrett and Rev. Glen Studdard officiating. Interment will be in the Georgia Memorial Park in Canton, GA.
