John C. Marion

John Curtis Marion age 98 of Rome was born in Wedowee, AL to John Curtis and Essie Marion. He passed away on March 28, 2015. Curtis was retired from Kroger after 40 years of service. He was also a World War II veteran of the Merchant Marines. Mr. Marion was a member of Chapel Hill Methodist Church. He was an avid outdoors man; he loved hunting, camping and gardening.

Curtis was preceded in death by his wife Bera "Shorty" Marion, son Jerry Marion and brother Burns Marion. He is survived by his grandsons, Jason (Margaret) Marion and Shannon (Tammy) Marion; great grandchildren, Hunter Marion, Hagen Marion, Blythe Marion and daughter-in-law, Wanda (Larry) Meeks.

Visitation will be on Monday, March 30, 2015 from Noon until 2:00 pm at Fred Talley's Parkview Chapel Funeral Home. The funeral will be at 2:00 pm at the funeral home on Monday as well and burial will follow at Floyd Memory Gardens.
