Mr. Jimmy Daril Young, age 82, of Rome, GA, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his loved ones on April 23, 2025.

Jimmy proudly worked as a supervisor for Shaw Industries for over 20 years, where he was respected by his colleagues and known for his unwavering commitment and dedication to his work as well as leaving a lasting impression on those who spent their days around him. His professional life was a testament to his strong work ethic and caring nature. Beyond his career, Jimmy was an active member of his community, contributing significantly to various organizations. He served as a past president of the Rome Shrine Club and was inducted into the Yaarab Shrine Hall of Fame for more than 100,000 crown of honor points and in June, he would have celebrated an incredible milestone of 50 years as a member after joining in 1976. He was equally involved with Coosa Lodge 622 F &AM where he was the Worshipful Master in 1979 and in 2021. He also held positions as a past president of The Red Devils and The Hillbillies Shriners. He was also a Master Mason since April 22, 1974. These affiliations were not just titles for Jimmy; they reflected his commitment to service, fellowship, and his desire to give back to the community. Jimmy had a personality that left a lasting impression on those he met. He embodied a servant's heart, always ready to lend a hand or offer support to those in need and those who knew him, his love for coffee was well-known; he would enjoy a cup day in and day out, 365 days a year. Additionally, he had a passion for cooking, often sharing his talents at shrine club events, Masonic gatherings, and various community functions. One of Jimmy's proudest accomplishments was his personal faith. He was a believer who accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. Jimmy leaves behind a legacy of kindness, generosity, and service that will be greatly missed but fondly remembered by all who knew him and loved him.
