Jimmy R. Jarrard, Sr. age 73, of 858 Turner Chapel Road, SE, Rome, died Saturday morning, November 4th, 2006, at a local hospital.
A native of Cobb County, GA., Mr. Jarrard was born on February 21st, 1933, the son of the late Harold and Alma Crawford Jarrard. He had spent the greater part of his life in Floyd County and was a member of The Church of the Redeemed. Mr. Jarrard was associated with Lewis Carpet of Cartersville for 20 years. From 1980 until 2006 Mr. Jarrard and his wife, Betty owned and operated Red Hill Quail Farm on Turner Chapel Road.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Ann Gresham Jarrard to whom he was married on November 3rd, 1951, 3 sons and 2 daughters-in-law, Remoan Jarrard, Terry and Alva Jarrard and Chris and Debbie Jarrard all of Rome; 3 grandchildren, Rebekah Grier and her husband, Kevin, Aimee Hays and her husband, Tony and Terry Lee Jarrard, Jr. and his wife, Caroline, 5 great-grandchildren, Hunter Hays, Chase Grier, Terry Lee Jarrard, III, Madison Anne Grier and Landon Hays. Nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services for Mr. Jarrard will be held on Tuesday morning, November 7th, 2006 at 11 o'clock from the Parkview Chapel of Fred Talley's Funeral Home with the Rev. Robert Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in Floyd Memory Gardens.
The following will serve as active pallbearers, Kevin Grier, Tony Hays, Terry Lee Jarrard, Jr., Andrew Davies, Rickey Gresham and Jamie Killinger.
Mr. Jarrard will remain at Fred Talley's Parkview Chapel Funeral Home where the family will receive friends this (Monday) evening from 6 o'clock until 8 o'clock. At other hours the family will be at the residence.
