Jewell Irene Monteith

Mrs. Jewell Irene Monteith, age 74, of Willow Road, Shannon, GA. died Thursday, November 16th, 2006 at a local hospital.
A native of Floyd County, Mrs. Monteith was born on September 27th, 1932, the daughter of the late James B. and Ida Morrow Culberson. She had spent her entire life in Floyd County and was a member of the Mount Calvary Baptist Church. For a number of years, Mrs. Monteith was associated with Gaily & Lord. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Deborah and by a brother, Billy Culberson in 2006. She was married to Grady B. Monteith who preceded her in death in 2004.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Dean and Heidi Monteith of Kingston; 3 grandchildren, Taylor and Jacob Monteith and Amanda Kines and her husband, Billy, 2 great-grandchildren, Tripp and Caty Kines, a sister, Vivian Varner of Rome; 3 brothers, Clinton and Woody Culberson both of Rome and Wendell Culberson of Cedar Bluff, Ala. A number of nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services for Mrs. Jewell Irene Monteith will be held on Sunday afternoon, November 19th, 2006 at 2 o'clock from the Parkview Chapel of Fred Talley's Funeral Home with Pastor Jackie Culberson and the Rev. Steve Morrow officiating with interment to follow in Snow Springs Cemetery.
The following will serve as active pallbearers, Lamar Varner, Doug Morris, Desi, Caleb, Gerald and Jerry Culberson.
Mrs. Monteith will remain at Fred Talley's Parkview Chapel where the family will receive friends this (Saturday) evening from 6 o'clock until 9 o'clock. At other hours the family will be at the home of the son and daughter-in-law, Dean and Heidi Monteith, 422 McClain Road, NW, Kingston, GA.
