Jessie Lorene Edgins

Mrs. Jessie L. Edgins, age 93, of #6 Baker Drive, SW, West Rome, died Sunday morning, June 17th, 2007, at her residence.
A native Bartow County, Ga., Mrs. Edgins was born on August 1st, 1913, the daughter of the late Preston E. and Sarah Elizabeth Bennett Blankenship. She was of the Baptist Faith and prior to her retirement, Mrs. Edgins was associated with Floyd Medical Center as a License Practical Nurse. Mrs. Edgins was preceded in death by a son, Donald Gene McGuire on April 16th, 2007, 2 daughters, Doris Faye Norene and Mary Elizabeth Earwood. She was married on June 4th, 1961 to Harry Russell Edgins who preceded her in death in 1974.
Survivors include 1 daughter, Chrissy Lindsey of Rome; 14 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren also survive as do a sister, Mrs. Ruby Scruggs of Shannon, Ga. Nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services for Mrs. Edgins will be held on Wednesday afternoon, June 20th, 2007, at 2 o'clock from the Parkview Chapel of Fred Talley's Funeral Home with the Rev. David Beck and Rev. Kenneth Crow officiating. Interment will follow in the family lot of East View Cemetery.
The following will serve as active pallbearers, Chris and Erick Earwood, Mickel Hulme, D.J. and Jason O'Berry.
Mrs. Edgins will remain at Fred Talley's Parkview Chapel Funeral Home where the family will receive friends this (Tuesday) evening from 6 until 9 o'clock. At other hours they will be at the residence, #6 Baker Drive in West Rome.
