Jerry Tony Gilmore

Jerry Tony Gilmore, age 60, of #8347 New Calhoun Highway, Rome, died Monday evening, April 7th 2008 at his residence.
A native of Cherokee County, Alabama, Mr. Gilmore was born on July 11th, 1947, the son of the late Tony and Amanda Geraldene Hight Gilmore. He spent the greater part of his life in Rome and Floyd County and was a member of the Huffaker Road Baptist Church. Mr. Gilmore was a member of Shannon Masonic Lodge and prior to his retirement was an auto mechanic.
Survivors include his wife, Gayla Sue Timms Gilmore, to whom he was married on April 10th, 1998, 1 son, Jeff Gilmore of Shannon; 1 daughter, Toni Nadine Gaulding, 1 stepson, Joe Taylor of Shannon; 1 stepdaughter, Mandy Byars of Scottsville, Ga; 2 grandchildren, 4 step-grandchildren also survive as do 2 sisters, Dean Money and Doris Hice both of Rome; a brother, Leldon Rogers of Rome. Nieces and nephews also survive.
Memorial services for Jerry Tony Gilmore will be held this (Thursday) evening, April 10th 2008 at 7 o'clock from the Parkview Chapel of Fred Talley's Funeral Home with the Rev. Marvin Glass officiating.
The family will receive friends this (Thursday) evening at the funeral home following the memorial service. At other hours they will be at their respective homes.
