Jean Evelyn Bray, age 80, of Armuchee, GA, passed away Thursday morning, October 31, 2024 at a local hospital in Rome, GA, surrounded by her family. 

Jean was born on April 25, 1944, in Rome, GA. Jean led a fulfilling life marked by dedication to her family and a steadfast commitment to her faith.

Ms. Bray enjoyed a long career at Mohawk Industries, retiring after numerous years of service. Her work ethic and energetic spirit were an inspiration to those around her, and she left a lasting impression on her colleagues.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Jean was known for her deep love of the Scriptures, often finding solace and joy in reading her Bible. Singing was also a cherished pastime for her, a reflection of her joyful spirit and her devotion to her beliefs. In this eternal moment, she is rejoicing in the presence of her Lord and Savior.

Surviving Jean are her children, Russell Bray (Varina) and Samuel Bray, all of Rome, GA. She leaves behind two beloved grandchildren, Hannah Bagley (Eric) and Haleigh Long (Justin), along with three great-grandchildren: Bethany, Linkoln, and Lachlan. Jean also had a brother, Hugh James, who survives her.

Jean was preceded in death by her parents, Bascom James and Gladys James, as well as her brothers: Jackie James and Wayne James. 

Memorial services for Jean will be held on Sunday afternoon, November 3, 2024, at 4:00 p.m. in the chapel of Salmon Funeral Home with Rev. Corey Wright and Pastor Matthew Reynolds officiating. 

Jean’s family will receive friends at Salmon Funeral Home Sunday from 2:30 p.m. until the service hour.
