Jarrett Steve Turner, age 54, of #6 Randolph Drive, NW, Rome, died on Saturday morning, October 17th, 2009 at his residence.
A native of Athens, Georgia, Mr. Turner was born on December 27th, 1954, the son of the late James Harry Turner and the late Mildred "Millie" Ensley Haiggler. He had spent the greater part of his life in Rome and was a member of the Fellowship Baptist Church of Rome. Prior to his disability, Mr. Turner was self-employed in the Motorcycle Industry.
Survivors include 2 daughters, Ginger Pursley and Stephanie Turner both of Rome; the mother of his children, Jacquie Mullen of Kingsland, GA.; 2 sisters, Laura Turner of Texas and Liz Palmer of Illinois; 2 brothers, Martin Brown of Augusta, Ga. and Joe Turner of Oakwood, GA. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
A celebration of life service for Jarrett Steve Turner will be held on Wednesday afternoon, October 21st, 2009 at 2 o'clock from the Parkview Chapel of Fred Talley's Funeral Home with Dr. Dale Levan and Steve's brother, Joe Turner officiating. Interment will follow in Rome Memorial Park.
Mr. Turner will remain at Fred Talley's Parkview Chapel where the family will receive friends on Wednesday from 12:30 until 2 o'clock p.m. At other hours they will be at the residence.
The following will serve as active pallbearers, Todd Hold, Jimmy LeMasters, Harvey Chapman, Adam Turner, Nathan Turner and Jesse Turner.
