Janie Scoggin Wilson, age 87, of #799 Little Egypt Road, Summerville, Ga., died Wednesday evening, November 4th, 2009 at a local hospital.
A native of Chattooga County, Mrs. Wilson was born on March 10th, 1922, the daughter of the late John L. and Janie Mae Morgan Scoggin. She was a member of the Pleasant Valley North Baptist Church and the Bessie Myrick Sunday School Class. Mrs. Wilson was a retired secretary and was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Bill Shaw in 2008. Mrs. Wilson was married on December 14th, 1941 to Ernest Franklin Wilson who preceded her in death in 1974.
Survivors include 2 daughters, Johnnie Shaw of Summerville and Wanda Barnett of Mobile, Alabama; 5 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services for Janie Scoggin Wilson will be held this (Friday) afternoon, November 6th, 2009 at 2 o'clock at the Pleasant Valley North Baptist Church with the Rev. Mac McCurry and Rev. Clyde Hampton officiating. Interment will follow in the family lot of Pleasant Valley North Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Wilson will lie-in-state at the church today (Friday) from 12 noon until 2 o'clock. The family will receive friends at the church from 12 noon until 2 o'clock.
The following will serve as active pallbearers, Yandell Park, Max Cordle, Doug Wilson, Don Wilson, Buddy Fowler and Don Elliott. Members of the Bessie Myrick Sunday School Class will serve as honorary pallbearers.
