Jane Carolyn Brock

Mrs. Jane Wright Brock, age 93, of Rome, GA, passed away Saturday afternoon, March 12, 2022.

A native of Rome and Floyd County, Mrs. Brock was born February 14, 1929, daughter of the late Carl Bivens Wright, Sr., and Lessie Horton Wright. She attended West Georgia College and graduated from University of Georgia in Athens, GA, in 1952. Mrs. Brock did graduate work at Peabody College in Nashville, TN. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary of Rome, Rome Women’s Bowling Association, Callier Springs Country Club, and the Fraternal Order of the Eastern Star of Ormand Beach, FL. Mrs. Brock taught at Model Elementary School for over 30 years and said her students were so important to her. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death in November of 1961 by her husband, Henry B. Brock, Jr, whom she married in 1958. Also preceding her in death were four brothers, Carl Bivens Wright, Jr., Max Wright, James Wright, and Edwin Wright.

Mrs. Brock is survived by nieces and nephews, Judy (Reggie) Watts, Abby Wright, David Wright, and Gary (Debbie) Wright, Kelli (David) Boswell, Jason (Ofelia) Watts, Hensley Boswell, Kennedy Boswell, Jaden Boswell, and special friends, Cynthia Radford and Janice White.

Graveside and interment services for Mrs. Brock will be held on Tuesday morning, March 15, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. in East View Cemetery with Chaplain Marvin Richardson officiating.
