James William "Pat" Hughes

Mr. James William “Pat” Hughes, age 95, of Rome, GA, passed away Saturday, December 18, 2021.

A native of Rome and Floyd County, Mr. Hughes was born March 17, 1926, son of the late Jay G. Hughes and Elva Pace Hughes. He was nicknamed Pat because of being born on Saint Patrick’s Day, and it stuck with him the rest of his life. Mr. Hughes was a graduate of Rome High School and a veteran of the United States Army Air Force. Prior to retirement he was associated with Southern Bell for several years. In addition to his parents, He was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Robertson.

Mr. Hughes is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Lance and Connie Hughes of Cedartown.

Mr. Hughes was buried privately at East View Cemetery.
