James Tommy Fincher, Sr., age 75, of the Booger Hollow Road, Lindale, passed away Saturday morning, March 16, 2013, at a Rome hospital.
A native of Floyd County, Georgia, Mr. Fincher was born on December 19, 1937, the son of the late Henry T. and Bertha Barton Fincher. Mr. Fincher was of the Baptist faith and was a graduate of Rome High School and attended West Georgia College. Prior to his retirement he was associated with Yellow Freight Company as a truck driver and was a member of the teamsters union.
Survivors include 2 sons, Bart Fincher of Lindale and Tommy Fincher, Jr. and his wife, Deborah of Loudon, Tenn.; 1 daughter, Angela Martin and her, husband Brent of North Carolina; 1 grandson, Seth Fincher also survives as do a sister, Betty Ruth Hentz of Rome. Nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services for James Tommy Fincher, Sr. will be held on Friday afternoon, March 22, 2013 at 2 o'clock from the Parkview Chapel of Fred Talley's Funeral Home with Reverend Morris Cargle officiating. Interment will follow in East View Cemetery.
Mr. Fincher will remain at Fred Talley's Parkview Chapel where the family will receive friends on Friday afternoon from 12 noon until 2 o'clock.
