Jacqueline McGehee Flanigen, age 84, formerly of Rome, passed away on July 1st, 2010 in Redding, California. Mrs. Flanigen was born in Atlanta, Georgia on October 20th, 1925 to John Stark McGehee and Almeda Carlton McGehee.
Mrs. Flanigen was married to the Rev. John M. Flanigen in 1947 and surviving them are 3 daughters, Kathleen Manson and her husband, Gene of Redding, California, Elayne Winters and her husband, Monroe of Moundville, Alabama and Jean Vaszil and her husband, Dale of Rosalia, Washington; 2 sons, John M. Flanigen III of Marietta, Georgia and Richard Flanigen and his wife, Gena of Rome Georgia; grandchildren, Victoria Lea Flanigen Winters of Mountville, Alabama, Ian Michael Flanigen of Marietta, Georgia and Amanda Flanigen Jones of Marietta, Georgia; 1 sister, Jeanette Kroening of Matthews, N.C.
Receiving of family and friends will be on Thursday, July 22nd, 2010 from 12 o'clock noon until 2 o'clock p.m. in Daniel's Hall at St. Peter's Episcopal Church. A service celebrating the life of Jacqueline McGehee Flanigen will be at 2 o'clock Thursday afternoon, July 22nd, 2010 at St. Peter's Episcopal Church with Rev. Roger Ard officiating.
In lieu of flowers please make memorial contributions to St. Peter's Episcopal Church's Soup Kitchen to feed the homeless, 101 East Fourth Avenue, Rome Georgia 30161.
