J C Rose

J.C. Rose, age 79 of #4786 Calhoun Highway NE, Rome, died Tuesday evening, May 6th, 2008 at a local hospital.
A native of Bartow County, Mr. Rose was born on November 18th, 1928, the son of the late Ben and Maybelle Hazlewood Rose. He had spent the greater part of his life in Floyd County and was a member of the New Antioch Baptist Church. At the time of his death, Mr. Rose was associated with Floyd County as a caretaker.
Survivors include his wife, Helen Fowler Rose to whom he was married on May 27th, 1950, 2 daughters and sons-in-law, Sheila and Robert Lancaster of Summerville, GA. and Janice and Gene Bennett of the Rush Chapel Road; a son and daughter-in-law, Terry and Teresa Rose of Rome; 7 grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren. Nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services for J.C. Rose will be held on Friday morning, May 9th, 2008, at 11 o'clock from the Parkview Chapel of Fred Talley's Funeral Home with the Rev. Eddie Manning and the Rev. Jody Hagerty officiating. Interment will follow in Morning View Cemetery.
A grandson, grandsons-in-law and nephews will serve as active pallbearers.
Mr. Rose will remain at Fred Talley's Parkview Chapel where the family will receive friends this (Thursday) evening from 6 until 8 o'clock. At other hours they will be at the home of a daughter and son-in-law, Janice and Gene Burnett at #25 Rush Chapel Road.
