Irmgard Brooks

Irmgard Brooks, age 71, of #5 Ridgefield Drive, Silver Creek, GA. passed away on Saturday evening, July 30, 2011 at a Rome hospital.

A native of Brunsbuttelkoog, Germany, Mrs. Brooks was born on June 14th, 1940, the daughter of the late Julius Karl Oehlers and the late Anna Irene Nooack. She had been a resident of Rome since 2008 moved here from Cleveland, Tennessee. Prior to her retirement, Mrs. Brooks worked in textile and was a Floral Designer. Mrs. Brooks was of the Lutheran Faith. Mrs. Brooks was preceded in death by a brother, Hans Noack of Germany. Mrs. Brooks was married to Malcolm Lewis Brooks who preceded her in death in 1983. In 1986 she was married to John Green of Cleveland, TN. who preceded her in death in 1999.

Survivors include 2 sons and daughters-in-law, Clyde and Megan Brooks of Hopkinsville, KY. and Karl and Carol Brooks of Silver Creek, GA. 10 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren also survive as do 2 step-daughters, Cheryle Anderson and Jennie Silvers, a sister, Gisela Mordhorst of Germany and a special niece, Penny Brooks Friday of Houston, Texas. Other nieces and nephews also survive.

A private celebration of the life of Irmgard Brooks will be held at a later date by her family.
