Hugh L. Rudd

Hugh L. Rudd, age 73, of the Floyd Springs Road, Armuchee, died Tuesday, March 9th, 2010 at the residence.
A native of Cherokee County, Alabama, Mr. Rudd was born on November 28th, 1936, the son of the late John C. and Annie Ruth Hartline Rudd. He was a 1954 graduate of Armuchee High School and was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Rudd attended the University of Nebraska at Omaha and the University of Delaware at Dover. Mr. Rudd was a 20 year veteran of the United States Air Force having attained the rank of TSGT. Mr. Rudd was a member of the Adams-Coker-Covington-Watters American Legion Post #52. For a period of time Mr. Rudd was associated with Fox Manufacturing of Rome. He was preceded in death by a sister, Patty and by a brother, Clifford Rudd.
Survivors include his wife, Julie Helms Rudd to whom he was married on August 15th, 1957; 1 daughter and son-in-law, Tonita Jo Rudd and Mike Beavers of Kennesaw, GA.; 2 sons and daughters-in-law, Derek and Anne Rudd of Storrs, Conn. and Erik and Karen Rudd of North Bend, Washington; 5 grandchildren, Hannah, Olivia, Maya, Kaitlin and Rachel Rudd, 1 brother, Nickey Rudd of Birmingham, Ala. Nieces and nephews also survive.
A Celebration of Life Service for Hugh L. Rudd will be held on Tuesday afternoon, March 16th, 2010 at 2 o'clock at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, GA. with the Rev. Edward E. Holsomback officiating. Full military honors will be conducted at the graveside by the United States Air Force Honor Guard.
