Harry Benson Atkinson

Harry Benson Atkinson, born on September 11, 1946 in Rome, GA passed away on Friday February 3, 2023. After graduating high school he began his work in the Flooring field and worked with Mohawk for many years. He enjoyed watching any sport, especially the Auburn Tigers and loved life. Mr. Harry never met a stranger and was known as easy-going. He will be missed by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel Lee Atkinson and Gladys Brady Atkinson and a brother, Larry Atkinson. He is survived by his wife, Janice Helms Atkinson; children, Harry Atkinson Jr., Jason Atkinson, Greg Atkinson, Selena Atkinson, Chris Fowler, Renae Fowler and a number of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A Celebration of Life is currently being planned and will be announced here as soon as the details are finalized. According to Harry’s wishes he will be cremated.

Salmon Funeral Home has been entrusted with the final arrangements.
