Harold BF Crowe

Mr. Harold BF Crowe, age 86, of Rome, GA passed away on Sunday, February 9, 2025 at a local hospital surrounded by his family. 

Harold was born on June 9, 1938, in Walker County, GA to his parents: Roy Crowe and Bonnie Blanche Chapman Crowe. A dedicated entrepreneur, Mr. Crowe was the proud owner and operator of Crowe’s Upholstery, a beloved business that has served the Rome community for over 50 years. He took great pride in providing exceptional service and quality craftsmanship to his customers, earning a reputation for excellence that stood the test of time. Even as recently as 2024, Mr. Crowe could still be found working in his shop, continuing to offer his expertise and passion for upholstery until his passing.

He was a passionate fan of the Braves, as he held season tickets to the Rome Braves and regularly attended their games. He treasured his time at his home on Lake Weiss, where the laughter of his family echoed across the water. He relished days spent on his boat with his family, pulling his children and grandchildren on skis and inner tubes, creating unforgettable memories and moments of pure joy.

He had a special fondness for food, particularly his late wife’s beloved homemade biscuits and gravy. He also enjoyed watching Westerns, especially films featuring John Wayne. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. 

In addition to his parents, Mr. Crowe was preceded in death by his wife, Vera Bernice Packer Crowe; daughter, Teresa Fowler; brothers, Cooter Crowe, Willie Aglin Crowe, Sr., Curtis Leon Crowe and Melvin Roy Crowe as well as a sister, Ruth Lolivia Henry.

Mr. Crowe is survived by his loving children: Judy Minshew and her husband Michael of Rome, GA and Janet Hardy and her husband Ken of Hawkinsville, GA; sister, Mildred Lucille Lindsey of Rome, GA: grandchildren: Abral Wilson (Josh), Trae and Kate Hardy, Amy Rogers, Adam Alford, Chelsea Fowler; great grandchildren: Felicity, Madison, Logan, Ariana, Adlynn, Allyssa, Ariella and Brayden; and bonus daughter Freda Frazier.

Funeral services for Mr. Crowe will be held on Thursday, February 13, 2025, at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Salmon Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Nance and Rev. Buddy Floyd officiating. Interment will follow the service at Floyd Memory Gardens with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Michael, Adam, Josh, Ken, Trae, Bob and Michael Lindsey (Bubba).

Mr. Crowe’s family will receive friends at Salmon Funeral Home Thursday, February 13, 2025 from 12:00 PM until the service hour.
