Mrs. Frankie Cole Krape, age 93, of Alpharetta, Ga. a former long time resident of Rome, died Thursday evening, February 1st, 2007, in Alpharetta.
Born in Eatonton, Ga. on July 18th, 1913, Mrs. Krape had been a resident of Rome until May of 1999 at which time she moved to Alpharetta, GA. She was the daughter of the late Emmett and Frankie Thorpe Cole. Mrs. Krape was a 1930 graduate of Rome High School attended LaGrange and Shorter Colleges. She was a long time member of the First Baptist Church of Rome, where for many years she sang in the choir. Mrs. Krape was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Cole Stevens. She was married on June 19th, 1934 to William A. "Bill" Krape, who preceded her in death in 1985.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Frankie and Sonny Longo of Alpharetta, GA.; 1 son, William Emmett Krape of Atlanta; a grandson, Michael Jared Tarver of Alpharetta; and 2 nieces, Mary Thorpe Knowles and Cindy Jenkins both of Rome.
Funeral services for Mrs. Krape will be held on Monday afternoon, February 5th, 2007 at 2 o'clock at the First Baptist Church of Rome with Dr. Joel Snider and Dr. Floyd Roebuck officiating with interment to follow in the family lot of East View Cemetery, Rome.
The family will receive friends in the sanctuary of the First Baptist Church of Rome on Monday afternoon from 1 until 2 o'clock. Mrs. Krape will lie-in-state at the church on Monday afternoon from 1 o'clock until the funeral hour.
The following will serve as active pallbearers, Don Knowles, Jamey Koch, Don Graves and Sonny Longo.
