Frances Imogene Morrison

Frances Imogene "Jean" Morrison, age 83, of Rome, GA. died Wednesday morning, February 17th, 2010 at the residence.
Mrs. Morrison was born on March 31st, 1926 in Cedar Bluff, Alabama, the daughter of the late William Burdette Wood and the late Lessie Adams Wood. She attended Cedar Bluff School and was a 1944 graduate of Red Bank High School in Chattanooga, TN. Mrs. Morrison attended and received her Nursing Degree from Coosa Valley Tech in Rome Ga. and retired after 22 faithful years of service from Floyd Medical Center in Rome GA. Mrs. Morrison was a member of the Order of Eastern Star Emeritus #191 and a member of the Second Avenue Baptist Church. Mrs. Morrison was married on March 9th, 1946 to Robert C. "Bobby" Morrison who preceded her in death on March 3rd, 2002. She was preceded in death by a son, Robert Max "Mickey" Morrison, a daughter-in-law, Patricia Akins Morrison and a grandson, Robert Jason Morrison in 1983.
Survivors include 4 sisters, Sibyle Stepps of Rome, GA., Ruby Watts of Ft. Oglethorpe, GA., Linda Wynn of Cedar Bluff, Ala. and Susan Hall of Centre, Ala.; 1 brother, William Burdette Wood, Jr. of Cedar Bluff, Ala.. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services for Frances Imogene "Jean" Morrison will be held on Friday afternoon, February 19th, 2010 at 3 o'clock from the Parkview Chapel of Fred Talley's Funeral Home with the Rev. Gerald Rogers and Dr. Gary Batchelor officiating with interment to follow in Oaknoll Memorial Gardens.
Frances Imogene "Jean" Morrison will remain at Fred Talley's Parkview Chapel Funeral Home where the family will receive friends on Friday afternoon from 2 until 3 o'clock.
The following will serve as active pallbearers, Roy Wynn, Randy Wood, Joe Hall, Bill Wood, Gary Jones, and Shane Estes. Honorary pallbearers will include Al Wood and Ronald Cescutti.
