Fannie Mae Casey

Mrs. Fannie Mae Casey, age 87, of #21 London Lane, SE, Rome passed away on Sunday morning, January 2nd, 2011 at a local hospital.

A native of Floyd County, Mrs. Casey was born on February 5th, 1923 the daughter of the late George Washington Touchstone and the late Willie Lorena Smith Touchstone. Mrs. Casey was a member of the Cedar Valley Baptist Church and was a member of the Cedartown Eastern Star Chapter #213. Prior to her retirement Mrs. Casey along with her late husband, J.W. Casey owned and operated Casey's Grocery of Rome for many years. Mrs. Casey was preceded in death by 4 brothers, Watson, Henry, Julian and Joe Touchstone. Mrs. Casey was married on May 20th, 1940 to J.W. Casey who preceded her in death on March 11th, 2008.

Survivors include a special son, John Casey and his children, Megan Caldwell and Sean Casey all of Rome; a brother, Bob Touchstone of Marietta Georgia. Nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services for Mrs. Casey will be held on Wednesday afternoon, January, 5th, 2011 at 1 o'clock from the graveside of Oaknoll Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Rodney Martin officiating. Interment will follow in the family lot of Oaknoll Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Casey will remain at Fred Talley's Parkview Chapel where the family will receive friends this (Tuesday) evening from 6:30 until 8:30 pm.
