Evelyn Frances Hughes

Evelyn Frances Hughes, age 83, of 1022 Wilkerson Road, Rome, passed away early Tuesday morning, August 23rd, 2001 at the residence.

A native of Floyd County, Mrs. Hughes was born on November 10th, 1927, the daughter of the late Esben McKinney, Sr. and the late Grace Millican McKinney. She was a graduate of the Rome Girls High School and was a member of the North Broad Baptist Church. Prior to her retirement, Mrs. Hughes was associated with Southern Bell for 39 years. Mrs. Hughes was preceded in death by a sister, Mary George.

Survivors include her husband, James William "Pat" Hughes of Rome; a son and daughter-in-law, Lance Hughes and Connie Priest, of Cedartown, GA.; one brother, Esben McKinney, Jr. of Austin, TX. and one sister, Juanita Case of Rome also survive.

Graveside and interment services for Evelyn Frances Hughes were held Wednesday afternoon, August 24th, 2011 at 2 o'clock from the graveside of East View Cemetery with the Rev. Ray Miles officiating.
