Mrs. Eva Christine Smith, age 71 of #20 Collier Road, Rome, died Sunday morning, December 19th, 2010 at a Rome hospital. She was the wife of Jerry R. Smith

Mrs. Smith was born December 24th, 1938 in Cherokee County, Alabama. She was the daughter of the late C. J. and Mary Elizabeth Brumbelow.

Mrs. Smith retired from West Point Pepperell. She was of the Baptist Faith. She loved her family, gardening and watching her birds. She was preceded in death by her brother, Wallace Brumbelow, grandson, Dustin Roberson, daughter-in-law, Debbie English Roberson and great-grandchild, Christopher Hicks.

Survivors include her husband, Jerry R. Smith to whom she was married to for 32 years; son, Tim Roberson, daughter, Regina Suite, grandchildren: Haley Garrett and LaShonda Hicks; great-grandchildren: Destiny Balch, Emilee Keasler and Matthew Reddish; and sister-in-law, Jean Brumbelow. Step-sons: Gerald Smith, Kyle Smith and Lacy Smith; Step-daughters: Ginger Young and Megan Smith; step-grandchildren, Chelsea, Shelby, Josh, Justin, Grayson ,Whitney and Andy Smith, Jesse and Alex Ward and Jesseca Stinson; step-great-grandchildren, Anderson and Cali Smith, Brylee Ward and Addi Stinson.

Funeral services for Mrs. Eva Christine Smith will be held on Wednesday afternoon, December 22nd, 2010 at 2 o'clock from the Parkview Chapel of Fred Talley's Funeral Home with Rev. Earl Partian, Rev. Danny English and Rev. David Nance officiating with interment to follow in Oaknoll Memorial Gardens.

The following will serve as active pallbearers: Julian Touchstone, Millard Tanner, Todd Smith, Gerald Smith, Kyle Smith and Lacy Smith.

Mrs. Smith will remain at Fred Talley's Parkview Chapel where the family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 6:30 until 9 o'clock. At other hours they will be at the residence.
