Eula Belle Rickman

February 1, 1932 — March 23, 2014

Mrs. Eula Belle "Jo" Rickman, age 82, of Rome, GA, passed away on Sunday afternoon, March 23, 2014, at the residence.

A native of Rome and Floyd County, Mrs. Rickman was born on February 1, 1932, the daughter of the late George Alexander Holcomb and Reathy Elzora Haney Holcomb. Prior to retirement she was the office manager for Dr. Tom Moss, Jr. Mrs. Rickman was a member of the South Broad United Methodist Church and enjoyed traveling, playing with her grandchildren and loved cooking. She was married on April 14, 1952, to Mr. Fred Dempsey Rickman, Sr., who preceded her in death on November 1, 2002. Also preceding her in death was a sister, Farrice H. Terry, and two brothers, George Holcomb, Jr. and James C. Holcomb.

Mrs. Rickman is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Sandra and Randy Davis and Susan and Jerry Boatner, all of Rome; two sons and daughters-in-law, Fred "Rick" and Debra Rickman, Jr., of Burnesville, NC, and David and Rosa Rickman of Rome; seven grandchildren, Elizabeth Davis, Amanda (L.Cpl. Randy K.) Brock, Matthew (Tonya) Davis, Andrew Rickman, Hannah (Chase) Burnes, Laura Rickman and Cameron Rickman; one great-granddaughter, Ashleigh Boatner; one great-grandson, Brody Davis; three sisters-in-law, Delia Holcomb, Nell Holcomb and Louise Rickman. A host of nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services for Mrs. Rickman will be held on Wednesday, March 26, 2014, at 2:00 p.m. in the Parkview Chapel of Fred Talley's Funeral Home with Rev. Hoyt Coker and Rev. Ken Hinkley officiating. Interment will follow in the Floyd Memory Gardens.

Mrs. Rickman will remain at Fred Talley's Parkview Chapel Funeral Home where the family will receive friends this (Tuesday) evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. At other hours they may be contacted at the residence.

Pallbearers are asked to meet at the funeral home on Wednesday by 1:30 p.m. and include Matthew Davis, Cameron Rickman, Chase Burnes, Andrew Rickman, L.Cpl. Randy K. Brock and Robert Holcomb.

Mrs. Rickman's family wishes to express a special gratitude of thanks to her caregivers, Geraldine Tidwell and Amy Sayde, and also to the staff of Hyman Hospice.
