Mrs. Ellie Delores “Dee” Hinnant, age 87, of Rome, GA, passed away Friday evening, October 2, 2020.
Dee was born in Rome on June 9, 1933, daughter of the late Mossie Adeline Stephens Stewart and Cecil Paul Stewart, Sr. She had been in Rome and Floyd County all her life and was a graduate of Rome Girls High School. Mrs. Hinnant was a longtime member of Oak Hill Church of Christ. She was associated with Champion Garment for a number of years and prior to retirement, had worked as a crossing guard with the Rome City Schools. Dee loved karaoke singing and spending time with family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Donnie Hinnant, and two brothers, Cecil Paul Stewart, Jr. and Charles William Stewart.
Mrs. Hinnant is survived by two daughters, Donna Hinnant Sprayberry, and Sharon Delores “Shari” Kisor, both of Rome; five grandchildren, Brian (Heather) Sprayberry, Bradley Sprayberry, Misty Jenkins, David Brinkley and Michael Kisor. Six great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren and other relatives and friends also survive.
Funeral services for Dee will be Thursday evening at 6:00 p.m. in the chapel of Salmon Funeral Home with Minister Michael Farris and Elder Steve Murdock officiating. Private interment will be Friday a in Oaknoll Memorial Gardens.
Dee’s family will receive friends at Salmon Funeral Home Thursday from 4:00 p.m. until the service hour.
