Elizabeth Evelyn Stanley

Elizabeth Orr Stanley, age 92, of Calhoun Road, Rome, died on Saturday morning, October 10th, 2009 at a local hospital.
A native of Cherokee County, Alabama, Mrs. Stanley was born on July 8th, 1917, the daughter of the late Robert O. and Leila Chandler Orr. She had spent the greater part of her life in Floyd County and was a homemaker. Mrs. Stanley was a member of the North Rome United Methodist Church. Mrs. Stanley was preceded in death by a sister, Wilma Orr Davis, by 3 brothers, Wilbur, Ralph and Eugene Orr and by a nephew, Charles Orr. Mrs. Stanley was married on November 16th, 1935 to Louie Kermit Stanley who preceded her in death on August 15th, 1993.
Survivors include 2 nieces, Linda Davis Moore of Centre, Alabama and Barbara Orr Mackey of Cartersville, GA.; a nephew, Randall Orr of Rome. Great nieces and great nephews also survive.
Funeral services for Elizabeth Orr Stanley will be held on Wednesday afternoon, October 14th, 2009 at 2 o'clock from the Parkview Chapel of Fred Talley's Funeral Home with the Rev. Gregg Free and Rev. Rodger Whorton officiating. Interment will follow in Fairview Methodist Church Cemetery in Centre, Alabama.
Mrs. Stanley will remain at Fred Talley's Parkview Chapel where the family will receive friends this (Tuesday) evening from 6 until 8 o'clock.
The following will serve as active pallbearers, Shannon Benefield, Barry Nelson, Lamar Nelson, Steven Otting, Jason Kisor and Josh Powell.
