Elizabeth Ann Roach

Elizabeth Ann Roach, age 82, of #45 Jeffery Street, NE, Rome, died Sunday morning, August 1st, 2010 at a local hospital.

A native of Cherokee County, Alabama, Mrs. Roach was born on January 20th, 1928, the daughter of the late Lother Thomas Gossett and the late Bessie Arnold Gossett. She had spent the greater part of her life in Floyd County and was a homemaker. Mrs. Roach was a member of the Rome Church of Christ, a long standing member of the Wayside Road Homemakers Club, was a member of the American Iris Society and was an honorary member of the Busy Bee Garden Club. Mrs. Roach was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Roach in 1949 and by a grandson, Jeffery Day. She was married on December 2nd, 1945 to Paul Orion Roach who preceded her in death on January 16th, 2006.

Survivors include 3 daughters and sons-in-law, Ann and Bobby Jones, Vickie and Mike Brock and Jackie and Roger Ramey all of Rome; 5 grandchildren, Matt and Ben Crane, Dwayne Day, Wendi Rood and Jenny Nadu; 6 great-grandchildren, Anna Day, Elise and Nick Nadu, Connor Crane, Jack and Stella Rood; 1 brother, Sonny Gossett of Centre, Alabama. Nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services for Elizabeth Ann Roach will be held on Wednesday afternoon, August 4th, 2010 at 3 o'clock from the Parkview Chapel of Fred Talley's Funeral Home with Minister Brooks Boyd officiating with interment to follow in the family lot of East View Cemetery.

The following will serve as active pallbearers, Matt and Ben Crane, Dwayne Day, Erik Ramey, Brian Nadu and Jason Rood.

Mrs. Roach will remain at Fred Talley's Parkview Chapel where the family will receive friends on Wednesday afternoon from 1 until 3 o'clock. At other hours they will be at the residence, #45 Jeffery Street, NE, Rome.
