Elizabeth Ann Jones

Elizabeth Ann "Betty" Raven Jones, age 93, a long-time resident of the Celanese Community passed away on Saturday morning, April 13, 2013 at Winthrop of Rome.

A native of Fayette County, Georgia, Mrs. Jones was born on April 19, 1919, the daughter of the late Joseph Henry Raven and the late Ola Fleming Raven. Mrs. Jones spent the great part of her life in Floyd County was a graduate of Brown High School in Atlanta and attended Massey Business School. Mrs. Jones was a member of the Riverside Baptist Church and was a homemaker. Mrs. Jones was devoted to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved gardening and her church. She loved her pets and rescued many. She was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Josephine Alford and Janice Light and by 2 brothers, Henry Raven and George Raven. Mrs. Jones was married on February 21, 1939 to Harold Thompson Jones who preceded her in death on June 1, 2001.

Survivors include 2 daughters and sons-in-law, Beverly and Dale Bell of Rome and Linda and Allen Wrisley of Rome; 3 grandsons, Brad Wrisley and his wife Dee, George Wrisley and Mike Bell and his wife, Megaen; 8 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services for Elizabeth Ann "Betty" Raven Jones will be held on Monday afternoon, April 15, 2013, at 3 o'clock from the Parkview Chapel of Fred Talley's Funeral Home with the Reverend Randy Lambert and Dr. Jerry Light, Sr. officiating. Interment will follow in the family lot of Oaknoll Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Jones will remain at Fred Talley's Parkview Chapel where the family will receive friends on Monday afternoon, April 15, 2013 from 1:30 until 3 o'clock.

The following will serve as active pallbearers, her 3 grandsons, Brad and George Wrisley, Mike Bell along with Roger Landers, Robert M. Jones and Tommy Jones.
