Edward Junior Pye

Mr. Edward Junior Pye, age 81, of Rome, GA, passed away Tuesday, March 29, 2022, in a local hospital.

A native of Rome and Floyd County, Ed was born March 18, 1941, a son of the late William A. Pye and Myrtle Holmes Pye. He had worked for Galey and Lord Manufacturing for over 35 years until the plant closed. Ed was a member of the Rome Baptist Temple. He loved all things outdoors, was fascinated with old cars, collected knives and loved Krispie Kreme donuts. Ed also loved to grow tomatoes and ride bicycles, (get Teresa to tell the story of his trip to Adairsville on his bike). In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Elizabeth Batts, Jewel Pye, and Anna Lee Abernathy, and two brothers, William Pye and Gene Pye.

Ed is survived by his loving wife, Teresa Fox Pye, whom he married May 13, 1988; stepdaughter, Jennifer (Robbie) Collins; grandchildren, Mason (Sarah) Ely, and Alexis (Nathan) Roland; great-grandchildren, Avalon Ely, Oliver Ely and Wyolene Ingle.

A Celebration of Life for Ed will be Saturday afternoon, April 2, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. in the Alvis Miller Memorial Chapel of Salmon Funeral Home with Pastor Chris Hanks, Rev. Gary Easterwood and Mr. Charles Ely officiating.

Ed’s family will receive friends at Salmon Funeral Home Saturday from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m.
