Edward F. Kelly, age 82, of Indianapolis, Indiana, a former Roman, died Wednesday afternoon, February 18th, 2009 at Clarian West Medical Center in Indianapolis.
A native of Tunnelton, West Virginia, Mr. Kelly was born on March 30th, 1925, the son of the late Edward J. and Lena L. Sidwell Kelly. He was a member of the Garden City Christian Church in Indianapolis and a veteran World War II and the Korean Conflict having served in the United States Navy. For several years Mr. Kelly was associated with Goodyear Tire, General Tire, and was co-owner of Rome General Tire and owner-operator of Kelly's Truck and Alignment in Rome. He was married on May 20th, 1944 to Audrey H. Bauer Kelly who preceded him in death on March 14th, 2003.
Survivors include 3 daughters, Susan McLean and her husband, Harry of Chicago, IL., Patricia Helton of Calhoun, GA. and Lori Smith and her husband, Tom of Indianapolis, IN.; 8 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services for Edward F. Kelly will be held on Saturday morning, February 28th, 2009 at 10 o'clock from the Parkview Chapel of Fred Talley's Funeral Home with his son-in-law the Rev. Tom Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Oaknoll Memorial Gardens with Shanklin-Attaway American Legion Post #5 Honor Guard conducting military graveside rites.
Grandsons will serve as active pallbearers.

Mr. Kelly will remain at Fred Talley's Parkview Chapel where the family will receive friends on Friday from 4 until 9 o'clock.
