Edward Earl Campbell

​Edward “Earl” Campbell, 92 of Armuchee, passed away December 18, 2023, at a local assisted living facility.

​Mr. Campbell was born January 7, 1931, son of the late C.F. “Charlie” Campbell and of the late Willie H. Bohannon Campbell.  He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Avanell Wilson Campbell, his son-in-law Eugene Arnold, and brothers and sister- in-laws Frank (Isabel) Campbell and Wallace (Maxine) Campbell.

​He retired from General Electric after 40 years of dedicated service.  While working he co-owned and ran E.E. and W.C Campbell Builders with his brother.  For 20 semi-retired years he continued to independently haul gravel and topsoil for the surrounding community and friends until declining health would not let him continue.  He was of the Baptist faith and loved gospel music especially “The Inspirations.”  He was a member of the Georgia Mountain Music Club while he was able to attend.

​Earl is survived by a daughter Joan Campbell Arnold, 3 Granddaughters, Redonna (Scot) Branton, Cyja (Mike) Green and Jessica (Kevin) Mattox; 3 Great- Grandchildren Brien Branton, Baylee (Hayden) Wessell, and Cy (Tiffany) King; 2 Great-Great Granddaughters Bentley King and Adalynn Wessell; Sister Mildred (William) Tietjen and numerous Nieces and Nephews.

​Visitation will be Wednesday, December 27, 2023, from 10:30 am until the funeral hour at noon in the Chapel of Salmon Funeral Home with Rev. Kenneth Jennings officiating.  Interment will be at Oaknoll Memorial Gardens.

​Pallbearers will include Mike Green, Scot Branton, Kevin Mattox, Brien Branton, Hayden Wessell, David Campbell, and Rex Campbell.

​The family would like to express a special thank you to Brookdale Assisted Living, Transitions Hospice, and his daily care takers for their love and support over the past 2 years.
