Edith Combs Salmon age 85, of Rome passed away on Monday, June 6th, 2011 at Polk Medical Center.
A native of Floyd County, Mrs. Salmon was born on April 26th, 1926, the daughter of the late Richard B. "R.B." Combs and the late Edith Louise Brown Combs. She was a graduate of the Rome Girls High and attended the University of Georgia. Mrs. Salmon was a long time member of the First Presbyterian Church of Rome and prior to her retirement was associated with Bell South for 38 years.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Richard "Buz" Salmon and his wife , Sandra of Rome; 2 grandchildren, Richard Salmon, Jr. of Pearl, Miss. and Mary Beth Harbin of Richland, Miss.; 3 great-grandchildren also survive.
Private memorial and interment services for Mrs. Salmon will be held at the First Presbyterian Church of Rome.
