Mr. Earl 'Wayne' Casey, passed away on May 13, 2023, at the age of 80 in Rome, GA. He was born on November 10, 1942, to his parents Arvil and Mary Lou Casey in Rome, GA.
Wayne attended Model High school and then went on to serve his country as a member of the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Upon completing his service, he began his career at Galey & Lord in Textile Manufacturing where he worked for 43 years in the Maintenance Department. Wayne was highly respected by his co-workers and was known for his remarkable work ethic.
In addition to working hard at his job, Wayne had many hobbies and interests outside of work. He enjoyed singing karaoke and was part of The Georgia Mountain Music Group. Wayne also loved golfing, bowling, and spending time cutting grass.
Wayne will be remembered for being a loving husband to Colleen Woodcock Casey of Rome, GA; three children: one daughter, Ashleigh Mobbs and her husband Terry of Rome, GA; two sons, Nicolas Casey and his wife Heather of Summerville, GA; Chad Casey and his wife Becky of PA. He took great pride in being a father to his children as well as being a grandfather to Tristain Young, Olivia Casey, Bryce Casey, Bailey Casey, Myles Maynor, Kaiden McCaffrey and Tyler McCaffrey. He is also survived by his brother, Kirby Casey of Rome, GA; sister, Arleen Coker of Adairsville GA; several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Wayne always had a positive attitude and was known for being caring and witty. He loved making others laugh with his jokes and infectious humor.
A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, May 18, 2023 at 2:00 PM in the Salmon Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends for a visitation starting at 12:00 PM until the Memorial Service begins at 2:00 PM at the funeral home.
Earl Wayne Casey was a kind, sincere man who will be deeply missed by everyone who knew him. He will forever be remembered for his dedication to his family, his work, and his country.
