Mrs. Dorothy Rooks Silver, age 84, of #403 Linda Lane, Calhoun, GA. died Wednesday morning, September 9th, 2009 at Gordon County HealthCare in Calhoun.
A native of Washington, GA., Mrs. Silver was born on February 26th, 1925, the daughter of the late Charles Edward Rooks, Sr. and the late Tommie Bowden Rooks. Mrs. Silver had been a resident of Calhoun for the past 42 years moving to Calhoun from Rome. She was a member of Nellie Peters United Methodist Church in Calhoun, prior to her retirement Mrs. Silver served as a secretary with Ga. Kraft of Rome and Silver Vending Company of Calhoun.
Survivors include her husband, Albert T. Silver to whom she was married on March 1, 1957; 2 daughters and a son-in-law, Margaret Elaine Wamboldt of Orlando, Fla. and Barbara Susan Adams and her husband, Robert G. Adams, Jr. of Dataw Island, S.C.; 1 son, Robert Stephen Silver and his wife, Diane Edna Staton of Orlando, Fla.; 2 grandchildren, Brian Staton Silver and Grace Elizabeth Wamboldt; 2 great-grandchildren, Jordon Wamboldt and Michael Wombolt; a sister, Frances Rooks Couch of Rome; a brother, Herman Rooks of Panama City, Fla. Nieces and nephews also survive.
Services for Mrs. Silver will be private.
