Dorothy Faye Corbin

March 17, 1929 — September 16, 2010

Dorothy Faye Fisher Corbin, age 81, of Rome and a long time resident of the Celanese Community, Rome, died on Thursday afternoon, September 16th, 2010 at a local hospital.

A native of Lincoln County, Tennessee, Mrs. Corbin was born on March 17th, 1929, the daughter of the late Arnold and Virginia Ozaline Rhoden Fisher. She had spent the greater part of her life in Floyd County and was a member of the Riverside Baptist Church, where she was a member of the Naomi Sunday School Class. For a period of time, Mrs. Corbin was associated with Celanese Corp. of Rome. Mrs. Corbin was married on June 21st, 1947 to Lemuel Davis Corbin who preceded her in death on August 15th, 2009.

Survivors include 2 daughters and a son-in-law, Glenda and Ricky Chapman of Cartersville, GA. and Linda Corbin of Rome; 5 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren survive along with 2 brothers, Phillip Fisher and Gary Fisher both of Rome. Nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services for Dorothy Faye Fisher Corbin will be held this (Saturday) afternoon, September 18th, 2010 at 3 o'clock at Riverside Baptist Church with the Rev. Randy Lambert, the Rev. Harvey Bishop and Randy Martin officiating. Interment will follow in Oaknoll Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Corbin will lie-in-state at the Riverside Baptist this (Saturday) afternoon from 1 until 3 o'clock. The family will receive friends this (Saturday) afternoon from 1 until 3 o'clock at the Riverside Baptist Church.

The following will serve as active pallbearers, Phillip and Gary Fisher, Jody Gordon,Mitchell Martin , Larry Fisher, Donald Fisher, Jr., Edward Selman and Harvey Bishop. Honorary pallbearers will include Dylan and Hayden Warner, Corbin Lamb, Alfred "Bo" Bohannon and David Lamb.
