Susan Hopper, age 59, of #8 Marlynn Drive, Rome, died Friday morning, May 28th, 2010 at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta.
A native of Floyd County, Susan was born on December 9th, 1950, the daughter of the late Robert C. McClinton,Sr., the late Kathryn McClinton Green and her late step-dad, William Doyal Green. She was a homemaker and was a 1970 graduate of Armuchee High School. Susan was a member of Enon Baptist Church and was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Curtis McClinton, Jr. in 1985 and by her father-in-law, Thomas Hopper in 2002.
Survivors include her husband, Les Hopper to whom she was married on June 28th, 1970; 2 sons, Jason and Eric Hopper of Rome; 1 granddaughter, Madison Hopper , 1 grandson, Cade Alford; 1 sister, Joy Sharp and her husband, Ronnie of Rome; 1 brother, Mike Green and his wife Tammy of Mentone; Mother-in-law, Martha Hopper of Calhoun; 3 sisters-in-law, Mabel Hunt of Plainville, Vivian Carden of Shannon and Mitzi Lindsey and her husband, Ben of Calhoun; 2 brothers-in-law, Dicky Hopper and his wife, Jane of Plainville and Bryant Hopper and his wife Wilma of Chattooga County, GA. Nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services for Susan Hopper will be held on Tuesday afternoon, June 1st, 2010 at 2 o'clock from the Parkview Chapel of Fred Talley's Funeral Home with the Rev. Max Carver officiating. Interment will follow in Oaknoll Memorial Gardens.
Susan will remain at Fred Talley's Parkview Chapel where the family will receive friends this (Monday) evening from 6 until 8 o'clock. At other hours they will be at the residence.
The following will serve as active pallbearers, Adam Sharp, Rick McEntyre, Seth Laney, Daniel Banks, Justin Lindsey and Milt Travis.
