David Trent Shelton

Trent Shelton, age 24, of #4901 Calhoun Road, Rome, (the Shannon Community) died Monday night, August 1st, 2011 from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident.

A native of Floyd County, Trent was born on February 25th, 1987, the son of and Roger David Shelton and Lois Gail Dixon. He had spent his entire life in Floyd County and attended Model High School. Trent was of the Baptist Faith and worked in construction. Trent loved sports, motorcycles and most of all loved his family. Trent was preceded in death by a grandfather, Vernon David Shelton on April 1st, 2010 and by an uncles, Stanley Ray Shelton on December 18th, 2010.

Survivors include a son, David Colt Shelton of Rome; a daughter, Emma Marie Shelton of Rome; his mother, Gail Dixon of Rome; his father and step-mother, Roger and Wanda Shelton of Rome; the mother of his daughter, Amanda Teems of Armuchee; 3 sisters, Renae LeCroy, Fonda Shelton and Tiffany Shelton all of Rome; 2 brothers, Travis Shelton and Tyler Trapp both of Rome; his grandmother, Delma Shelton of Rome; a step-brother, Chase McEntyre of Temple, GA.; a step-sister, Brittany Ford of Adairsville, GA.; an uncle, Verneic Shelton of Rome; aunts, Lavern and Carolyn Shelton both of Rome. Nieces and nephews also survive.

A celebration of the life of Trent Shelton will be held on Friday afternoon, August 5th, 2011 at 1 o'clock from the Parkview Chapel of Fred Talley's Funeral Home with the Rev. Jody Brock officiating. Interment will follow in Morning View Cemetery.

Trent will remain at Fred Talley's Parkview Chapel where the family will receive friends this (Thursday) evening from 6 until 9 o'clock.

The following will serve as active pallbearers, Ryan Matthews, Kyle Dixon, Frankie Dixon, Jeremy Hester, Tyler Knowles and T.L. Culberson.
