Daniel Raburn Danny Mckinney

Daniel R. "Danny" McKinney, age 61, of the Haywood Valley Road, Armuchee, died Tuesday morning, November 13th, 2007, at the residence.
A native of Floyd County, Danny was born on July 13th, 1946, the son of Jessie Pierce McKinney and the late John B. McKinney. He had spent most of his life in Floyd County and was a Vietnam Veteran having served in the United States Navy. Danny attended Armuchee High School and was a member of the Antioch Baptist Church. Danny was a self-employed contractor and loved hunting and gardening. Danny was preceded in death his father on December 26th, 1992 and by a brother, Walter McKinney on January 12th, 1980.
Survivors include his mother, Mrs. John B. "Jessie" McKinney of Armuchee; 2 sisters and a brother-in-law, Nell Corbin of Cummings, GA. and Martha and Jerry Purdy of Rosedale; 2 brothers and sisters-in-law, Johnny and Gladys McKinney and Kelley and Teresa McKinney all of Armuchee; a sister-in-law, Flora Lee McKinney of Rome. Nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services for Daniel R. "Danny" McKinney will be held on Friday afternoon, November 16th, 2007 at 2 o'clock from the graveside of the Floyd Springs Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Max Carver officiating. Interment will follow in the Floyd Springs Baptist Church Cemetery with the Shanklin-Attaway Post #5 Honor Guard conducting military graveside rites.
Members of the Shanklin-Attaway Post #5 will serve as active pallbearers.
The family will receive friends on Friday afternoon from 12:30 until 1:30 p.m. at the Floyd Springs Baptist Church. At other hours they will be at the home of his mother at 186 Haywood Valley Road, Armuchee.
