Cynthia Denise Ferguson, lovingly known as Cyndy, passed away peacefully on October 12, 2023, surrounded by her loving family in Rome, GA. She was born on April 9, 1962, in Rome, GA to Gene Cagle and Mae Thacker.
Cyndy had a vibrant and fulfilling life as a Nail Technician. Her career as a self-employed professional allowed her to showcase her exceptional skills and bring joy to countless individuals through her nail artistry. Cyndy's clients were not just customers; they became her friends. With her warm and compassionate nature, she made everyone feel special and cared for. Beyond her professional accomplishments, Cyndy was widely recognized for her incredible generosity and dedication to helping others. Many considered her a counselor because of her genuine desire to support those around her. It brought her immense joy to assist people going through difficult times and offer them words of comfort and guidance.
One of Cyndy's passions was horses, earning her the well-deserved title of a Cowgirl. She was actively involved in the Western Saddle Club and even played a vital role in starting the Pink Ride for Cancer. Through this initiative, Cyndy helped raise over $100,000 for cancer advocacy, making a significant impact on the lives of cancer patients and their families. She also lent her support to organizations like Cancer Navigators and Summit Quest.
Cyndy's kind-heartedness extended beyond her professional and philanthropic endeavors; it encompassed all aspects of her life. She was a deeply devoted wife to Michael Ferguson of Rome and a proud mother to Amanda Owens of Rome and Meghan Henderson and her husband Nick of Rome. Family meant everything to Cyndy; she cherished every moment spent with her loved ones. In addition to her husband and daughters, Cyndy is survived by several other cherished family members: parents, Gene (Shirley) Cagle and Mae Thacker; brothers, Ray Sears (Joan) of AK and Donnie Fleming and his wife Wanda of AL; grandchildren, Maycy Owens, Gage Owens, Kason Henderson; and her special niece, Stacey Royston. Cyndy was preceded in death by a brother, Gayle Cagle. Cyndy's compassionate soul extended even to her beloved four-legged friend, Georgia. Her bond with Georgia was unbreakable, as Cyndy found solace and unconditional love in the presence of her adored dog.
The funeral service for Cyndy will be held at Salmon Funeral Home on Monday, October 16, 2023 at 12:00 PM with Pastor David Tillery officiating. A visitation will take place at Salmon Funeral Home on Sunday, October 15, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Following the service, a burial ceremony will be conducted at Floyd Memory Gardens in Rome, GA. Gage Owens, Nick Henderson, Ray James, Gatlin Hancock, Kobie Drew, Bobby Ferguson, Jr, Grant Hicks and Hank Hicks will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Greg Smith and Kason Henderson.
Cyndy touched the lives of so many with her genuine kindness, unwavering support, and joyful spirit. She will be remembered for her selflessness and dedication to making a positive difference in the world. Her legacy will live on as she continues to inspire others to be kind and compassionate. The family kindly requests that flowers be sent or in lieu of flowers donations be made to Summit Quest in memory of Cynthia ‘Cyndy’ Denise Ferguson. This organization was close to Cyndy's heart and embody the values she held dear.
Cyndy's departure leaves a void in the lives of those who had the privilege of knowing her. However, she will forever remain in our hearts as an exceptional individual who spread love and kindness wherever she went. May her soul find eternal peace.
