Curtis Phillip Oliver

Curtis was born on August 21, 1934 in Gloucester, VA, to Mr. Howard Phillip and Mrs. Annie Mae Riley Oliver. Mr. Oliver worked at Berry College where he was a Grounds Supervisor. He loved spending time on the campus and making it beautiful. He enjoyed farming and working with all animals. He always had a garden and enjoyed spending time in it. Curtis was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend who will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved him.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Annie Nell Narmore Oliver; son-in-law, Alton Barna Jones and a sister, Merideth Elizabeth Johnston.

He is survived by his loving children: Tina Maddox of Rome, Phillis Lyons of Rome, Barbara Jones of Kingston, Sharron (Ralph) Cook of Rome, and Brian Christopher Oliver of Rome; brother, Franklin Howard Oliver of VA; grandchildren, Curt, Lindsey, Patty, Rebecca, Ralph JR, Christy; great grandchildren, Lorcan, Noah, Charleigh, Olivia and Arabella. He also leaves behind his beloved dog, Mack.

The family will receive friends at Salmon Funeral Home on Tuesday, December 26, 2023, from 12:00 PM until the service begins at 2:00 PM.

Funeral Services for Mr. Oliver will be held on Tuesday, December 26, 2023, at 2:00 PM at Salmon Funeral Home in the chapel with Brother Jerry Adair officiating.

Interment will follow at Morning View Cemetery.

Serving as Pallbearers will be the following gentlemen:  Mark, Matt, Curt, Ralph JR, Chris, and Chad. Noah and Lorcan will serve as honorary pallbearers.
