Clora Roselyn Ransom

January 30, 1922 — February 24, 2007

Clora Roselyn Corbin Ransom, age 85, of #505 North 5th Avenue, Rome, and a long time resident of the Floyd Springs Community, died Saturday morning, February 24th, 2007, at a local hospital.
A native of Floyd County, Mrs. Ransom was born on January 30th, 1922, the daughter of the late John E. and Ola Mae Murchison Corbin. She was a homemaker and a member of the Armuchee Baptist Church. Mrs. Ransom was preceded in death by 2 sons, Junior and Henry Ransom and by a sister, Mary Oletha Jackson. Mrs. Ransom was married in 1938 to Virgil Ransom who preceded her in death in 1998.
Survivors include 3 daughters, Mary Ransom Widener of Floyd Springs, Marie Labbous of Rome and Juanita Scoggins of Floyd Springs; 2 sons, Terry Ransom of Flint, Mich. and Thomas Ransom of Floyd Springs; 9 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services for Clora Roselyn Corbin Ransom will be held on Monday afternoon, February 26th, 2007, at 2 o'clock at the Mt. Tabor United Methodist Church with the Rev. Carl Alexander and Rev. Jody Brock officiating with interment to follow in the family lot of Mt. Tabor United Methodist Church Cemetery. Mrs. Ransom will lie-in-state at the church on Monday afternoon from 1 o'clock until the funeral hour.
Active pallbearers include Charles Wilkey, John Lewis, Russell Widener, Johnny Owens, Doyle Ransom and Allen Ables.
Mrs. Ransom will remain at Fred Talley's Parkview Chapel where the family will receive friends this (Sunday) evening from 6 until 8 o'clock. At other hours they will be at their respective homes.
