Charlie Walker McEntire, Jr.

Mr. Charles W McEntire, Jr., age 86, of Rome, GA, passed away Tuesday morning, March 7, 2023.

Mr. McEntire was born in Atlanta, GA, on February 27, 1937, son of the late Charles W. and Lucille McEntire, Sr. He retired from Cobb County Sheriff’s Department in Marietta, GA.   Mr. McEntire enjoyed traveling and spending time with family and friends.  In addition to his parents, Mr. McEntire was preceded in death by his wife Mattie Louise, a son, Phillip, and his brother Scott.

Mr. McEntire is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Charles, III, and Shirley McEntire of Acworth, GA, and Len and Patti McEntire of Rome; five grandchildren, Charles, IV (Mac), Patrick, Le’nora Doss (Collin), Kevin (Chastity) and Zachary (Kayla). Four great-grandchildren, Christopher, Elijah, Clover McEntire and Samuel Paul Doss.

A memorial service for Mr. McEntire will be hosted by the Acworth Masonic Lodge in the Chapel of Salmon Funeral Home on Thursday March 16, 2023 at 6:00 p.m. The family requests that in lieu of flowers please donate to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America, www.alzfdn.org.
