Charles William Hamilton

Charles William "Bill" Hamilton, age 85 of the Shannon Community, passed away early Monday morning, February 22, 2016, at a local hospital.

Mr. Hamilton was born in Adairsville, Georgia on August 8, 1930, the son of the late Andrew Means "Buster" Hamilton and the late Lula Vick Hamilton. For many years, Mr. Hamilton was associated with Lockheed in Marietta Georgia. After Lockheed in 1970, he opened and managed Ridge Valley Golf Course in Adairsville Georgia. He was a longtime member of Antioch Baptist Church and most recently Friendship Baptist Church where he was a member of The Men's Bible Sunday School Class. He was preceded in death by his parents, a grandson, Ty York, 4 brothers and 3 sisters.

Survivors include his wife, Clara "Corine" Hamilton; a daughter and son-in-law, Teresa and Gary York; a son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Sue Hamilton; great-granddaughter, Clara York; a brother, Jack Hamilton. Nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services for Charles William "Bill" Hamilton will be held on Wednesday afternoon, February 24, 2016 at 1:30 pm at Fred Talley's Parkview Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Max Tucker and Dr. Rodger Whorton officiating. Interment will follow in the Morning View Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 12 noon until 1:30pm.

Pallbearers will include, Mike Samuelson, Terry Gordon, Mike Leonard, James and Jason Blanton, Seth Laney and Steve Davis. Members of the Men's Bible Sunday School Class will serve as honorary pallbearers.
