Mr. Charles Milton Brown, age 70, of Dalton, GA, a former resident of Rome, GA, passed away on Friday evening, March 16, 2018, at his residence.
Charles was born in Rome on November 20, 1947, son of Eloise Peyton Brown and the late Emmett Forrest Brown. He was a graduate of Model High School and Coosa Valley Technical College. Charles was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving during the Vietnam War era. He retired in 2012 as a field engineer with CompuCom Corporation. Charles was a longtime member of the Lindale Church of God where he served and attended faithfully. He loved going to car shows, gun shows and spending time with family.
Charles is survived by his wife of almost 50 years, Janet Grindstaff Brown, who he marries on April 28, 1968; three daughters and sons-in-law, Kimberly and Dan Morehouse, Jennifer and Kirk Little, and Beth and Tyson Starks; seven grandchildren, Mason Morehouse, Mallory Morehouse, Madelyn Morehouse, Lauryn Little, Landen Little, Macie Starks and Alex Starks; mother Eloise Peyton Brown.
Funeral services for Charles will be held on Monday afternoon, March 19, 2018, at 5:00 p.m. in the Carl Sidwell Chapel of Salmon Funeral Home with Pastor Larry Woodson officiating. Interment will be on Tuesday afternoon, March 20, 2018, at 1:00 p.m. in West Hills Cemetery, Dalton, GA.
The family will receive friends at Salmon Funeral Home on Monday from 3:00 until 5:00 p.m.
Sons-in-law and grandsons will serve as pallbearers and include Dan Morehouse, Kirk Little, Tyson Starks, Mason Morehouse, Landen Little and Alex Starks.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made in honor of Charles to the Lindale Church of God, 585 Park Avenue, Lindale GA, 30147.
