Charles Marcus Hightower

Charles Marcus "Chuck" Hightower, Sr. age 77 of Rome, passed away on Feb. 21, 2015.

Mr. Hightower was born in Clayton, Ga the son of Alvira and George Marcus Hightower. He attended Clayton High School. He moved here from Savannah in 1963 with his wife Dee Hightower. Chuck was a member of North Rome Church of God for many years. He was a US Navy veteran also and operated an Allstate Insurance Agency in Rome with his wife. He was preceded in death by his wife Delorres Dean "Dee" Hightower and granddaughter Gerri Hightower.

Survivors include three sons Mark Hightower and his wife Gwen of Rome, David Hightower and his wife June of Rome, and Jayson Hightower and his wife Amanda of Rome; eight grandchildren, Josh, Jimmy, Dalton, Levi, Wyatt and Jackson Hightower, Amy Raybun and Amber Lindley; three great grandchildren, Beau Raybun, Ben and Sam Lindley.

Visitation will be on Monday, Feb. 23, 2015 from 5:00pm until 7:00 pm at Fred Talley's Parkview Chapel Funeral Home. The funeral service will be on Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2015 at 1:00 pm at North Rome Church of God with Rev. Jerry Gilliam officiating. Mr. Hightower will lie in state from noon until 1:00 pm at the church. Burial will follow at Oaknoll Memorial Gardens.
