Charles Farrell Eaves

Mr. Charles Farrell "Razze" Eaves, age 79, of 20 Kris Drive, Rome, GA, died Wednesday, March 9, 2011, in a local health care facility.

A native of Floyd County, Mr. Eaves was born on July 9, 1931, the son o f the late Ellis and Barbara Byrd Eaves. He was associated with General Electric of Rome for over 28 years, retiring in 1993. Mr. Eaves was a longtime member of the Fellowship Baptist Church where he served for a number of years as a deacon. He enjoyed making mission trips and going deep sea fishing. Mr. Eaves was a veteran of the United States Army.

Mr. Eaves is survived by his wife, Mary Frances McCarley Eaves, to whom he was married on July 14, 1956; three sons and a daughter-in-law, Jon Rodney Eaves of Cummings, GA, William Charles Eaves of Lithia Springs, GA, and Emory Lewis and Detra Eaves of Rome; three grandchildren, Patty Eaves, Jesse Eaves and Rachel Eaves; one great-grandson, Hunter Flugga; one brother, Hardwick Eaves of Dacula, GA,; one sister, Carolyn Brock of Rome. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services for Mr. Eaves will be held on Saturday at 2 p.m. in the Fellowship Baptist Church with Pastor Dale Levan and Mr. Eaves' nephew, Rev. Jody Brock, officiating. Interment will follow in the Floyd Memory Gardens with the Post 12 Rockmart American Legion Honor Guard conferring military rites.

Mr. Eaves will remain in Fred Talley's Parkview Chapel Funeral Home where the family will receive friends this (Friday) evening from 6 until 8 p.m. At other hours they will be at the residence.

Pallbearers are asked to meet at the church on Saturday by 1:30 p.m. and include Jesse Eaves, William Combs, Daniel Combs, Michael Ramsey, Ryan Flugga, Greg Nicholson, Gary Davis and Mike Davis.
