Catherine Louise Sokol Bojo, age 81, of Garden Lakes, Rome, GA., died Wednesday evening, January 6th, 2010 at a Rome hospital.
A native of Akron, Ohio, Mrs. Bojo was born on June 26th, 1928, the daughter of the late Vance and Katherine Putz Sokol. She had been a resident of Rome since 1968 moving here from Akron, Ohio and was a homemaker. Mrs. Bojo was a Communicant of St. Mary's Catholic Church of Rome, GA. Mrs. Bojo was married on May 3rd, 1947 to John Joseph Bojo, Sr. who preceded her in death on November 15th, 2001.
Survivor include 3 sons and daughters-in-law, John J. Bojo, Jr. and his wife Carolyn of Dallas, TX., Jim and Donna Bojo of Rome and Tom and Pam Bojo of Cave Spring, GA.; 3 daughters and sons-in-law, Chris and Ronnie Motes of Rome, Joan and Chuck Hufstetler of Rome and Judy and David Webb of Douglasville, GA.; 12 grandchildren, Leah Bojo of Austin, TX., Anne Eckhart of Los Angeles, Calif., Adam Motes of Chattanooga, TN.,, Luke Motes of Rome, Jennifer Starr of Souel, Korea, Brian Bojo of Rome, Caleb Hufstetler of Rome, Schell Hufstetler of Wake Forest, N.C., Rebekah Hufstetler of Rome, Hannah Webb of Mt. Berry, Ann Marie Bojo of Jacksonville, Ala. and Tyler Bojo of Cave Spring; 8 great-grandchildren, a sister, Helen Franjesevic of Akron, Ohio; a brother, Joe Sokol of Akron, Ohio. Nieces and nephews also survive.
A Funeral Mass for Catherine Louise Sokol Bojo will be held on Saturday morning, January 9th, 2010, at 11 o'clock at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Father Patrick Kingery officiating. Interment will follow in the family lot of Oaknoll Memorial Gardens.
A Rosary and Wake Service for Catherine Louise Sokol Bojo will be held this (Friday) evening at 5:30 at Fred Talley's Parkview Chapel Funeral Home with Deacon Stuart Neslin. Following the Rosary and Wake Service the family will receive friends at the funeral home until 9 o'clock. At other hours the family will be at the home of a son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Donna Bojo, #17 South Ivey Ridge Road, Maplewood Park, Rome, GA.30161.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions will be appreciated and may be made to St. Mary's Catholic School, 401 East Seventh Street, Rome, Georgia 30161.
Grandsons will serve as active pallbearers, Adam and Lucas Motes, Brian Bojo, Caleb Hufstetler and Tyler Bojo. Members of the Traveling Saints from St. Mary's Catholic Church will serve as honorary pallbearers.
