Mrs. Julia Carol Smith Horn, (Aunt Bug)
Carol was called by the Lord at approximately 2:30am, January 16, 2018. Carol was born April 28, 1944. She was a resident of Floyd County most of her life. She was a life time member of Antioch Baptist Church, sang in the choir, taught, loved and spoiled all of the children who came through her class. She was known to always have chewing gum or a snack of some kind. She was a member of Carpenters for Christ where she loved making sawdust, cooking, or any other job that needed to be done - she would gladly do it. Carol loved to laugh and always had a good joke and prided herself in finding the funniest birthday card in the whole section. But Carol also knew when others needed a quiet hug and soft words of encouragement. She would see needs and find a way to fill the need in practical everyday ways to encourage and build others up. She never met a stranger and loved everyone just the way they were. Carol and Marvin (Uncle Junior) shared forty-eight and a half years of love and laughter together. They served together, not side by side, in missions, church, life, everything - together.
Carol is survived by her husband, Marvin (Uncle Junior) Horn, her mother, Mrs. Thelma Smith, three brothers, Lary (Bessie) Smith, Travis (Deborah) Smith, and Keith (Jenny) Smith, several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews, and multiple children who she spoiled all over the world, and her favorite cousin, Diane Stansberry. The family requests that the following gentlemen serve as pallbearers, Lary Smith, Travis Smith, Keith Smith, Tony Brian, Rodney Clemons, and Mark Horn. Honorary pallbearers are the members of the Antioch Baptist Church Choir, and all members of the Carpenters for Christ.
